The Lakes College Culinary Club (TLCCC) started with a team of 12 students and has now expanded to over 30 members, showcasing its continued success through participation in college events and even catering for local community organisations. This program not only imparts valuable culinary skills but also teaches the significance of community service, fosters practical abilities and cultivates a professional work ethic.
Spanning ages 11 to 18, the Culinary Club challenges students to create elaborate six-course degustation dinners and manage large-scale catering for college gatherings. Chloe, a Year 7 student, praises the program for imparting essential life skills in an enjoyable way among friends. Likewise, Emily values the connections she forms despite the program’s demanding pace.
Under the guidance of Chef Joel, TLCCC contributes to the college’s ethos and the students’ personal growth. The program’s commitment to local ingredients and culinary adventures is evident as it expands to include barista training and Responsible Service of Alcohol certification. The program seamlessly merges science, art and food technology, promoting discipline and shared responsibility. TLCCC embodies a commitment to service, community engagement and student leadership, cementing its unique character and contribution to The Lakes College.

Since 2009, as a fully independent ETF provider, Harvest has provided innovative products with a focus on quality that serve long-term investors and their advisors. These are ETFs that cater to the needs of the Canadian market, focusing on investors’ key goals: preservation of capital, growth opportunities, and steady income. Advisors and investors have responded to Harvest’s independence, reliability, and innovation, helping to grow the firm’s AUM from under $1 billion at the end of 2020 to over $5 billion by December of 2024.
What makes Harvest ETFs stand out:
At Harvest ETFs we use a simple, powerful approach to investing. We begin by identifying growth industries or megatrends.
Growth industries have strong long-term-growth prospects powered by structural forces.
Megatrends are areas of opportunity created by rapid changes in technology, social preferences, or economic circumstances. We then capture those opportunities by investing in high-quality businesses. We see high-quality businesses as the best companies to own for long-term capital appreciation.
We focus on these high-quality businesses because they have historically led growth industries and megatrends. They have also been key to creation and preservation of wealth over time. Therefore, we build our portfolios out of high-quality businesses.
When we believe a portfolio is well suited to income generation, we then apply a covered call strategy to it. This strategy generates consistent, tax-efficient monthly income for unitholders.
Those three key factors make the Harvest formula unique: the identification of growth industries or megatrends, a focus on high-quality businesses, and the use of covered call strategies where appropriate.
We are dedicated to this approach, and that makes it compelling. It’s a straightforward, effective strategy for the creation and preservation of wealth.
